A lot has been happening in the world of Britney Spears for the past few months. After Britney Spears took charge of her own life for the first time on June 23 by speaking for herself at the hearing – things churned out pretty quickly in the follow-up.

Britney Spears lashed out at the conservatorship that had been controlling her life for almost 13 years calling it “abusive and exploitative.”

Britney Spears conservatorship case going to end

Since then Britney Spears’ world began to transform as she was allowed to hire her own lawyer, as well as set up a personal bank account to manage her money and finances. Her father, the head of conservatorship resigned along with the longtime manager. Britney Spears had openly spoken about the cruelty of the conservatorship and how she was banished from marrying again or becoming a mother again.

She got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari recently.

The latest hearing of the conservatorship case is due in a few days and there is a lot at stake.

The new lawyer of Britney Spears, Mathew S Rosengart stated that there have been attempts to remove James P. Spears from the post of conservator of her state. He stated that “James P. Spears is actively harmful to the client’s well-being and it is necessary to conduct further investigation into Mr. Spears’s conduct.”

James P. Spears had agreed to step down from conservatorship voluntarily this summer after growing pressure. He had announced to step down and resolve the conservatorship altogether. James Spears continues to push back his suspension or removal from conservatorship since then.

Judge Brenda Penny will head the court hearing on Wednesday.

Will the conservatorship come to an end?

According to the legal documents, Britney Spears has not officially filed to terminate the conservatorship. Termination of conservatorship is not possible without a medical evaluation of Britney Spears according to the law experts. There is no public record of the judge summoning for an evaluation recently. The documents state that even though Ms. Spears has reportedly requested the court to end her conservatorship, it cannot end without the evaluation as it was set up for the benefit and welfare of the singer.

Spears’ lawyer has called her father stating that Spears “fully consents” to terminate the conservatorship but James Spears is attempting “to avoid accountability and justice, including sitting for a sworn deposition and answering other discovery under oath.”

Rosengart further stated “while the entire conservatorship is promptly wound down and formally terminated, it is clear that Mr. Spears cannot be permitted to hold a position of control over his daughter for another day. Every day Mr. Spears clinging to his post is another day of anguish and harm to his daughter.”
