6-year-old critical, man dead, 4 others injured in shooting at Atlanta park
According to the news update, one person was shot dead along with a 6-year-old child who was left in critical condition stranded after a gunman opened fire inside the Atlanta park on Sunday evening.
The report also revealed that the man who was shot dead was in his 30s, and was struck by the gunfire shots during 7 p.m shooting episodes, according to the reports of local outlets.
The main cause due to which the shooting was sparked was based on an argument during a softball or a baseball game that was being played inside Atlanta park.
“As we’ve said countless times, we’re just asking the citizens just to find a way to resolve conflict without weapons,” Atlanta PD Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. told NBC affiliate 11Alive News.
“We’re just asking people to, you know, step away. We’re asking people just to let bygones be bygones.”
In addition, the man was rushed to the nearby hospital named Grady Hospital, but he was not saved, according to the local news station.
“The 6-year-old is currently in critical condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Egleston Hospital”, the outlet reported.
The suspect remains at large, police said.
