Asus has been releasing back-to-back hit laptops more prominently since mid-2015 when it launched its much-anticipated gaming machine G75IJY. As of the latest release, Asus has come up with an even enticing launch, Asus 2-in-1 Q535.
There has been a lot of praise in the market, with the portability and performance of the laptop in much spotlight. But we’d see down this review if Asus 2-in-1 Q535 is worth so many compliments maintaining no biasedness toward the machine.
Let’s take a look at the specifications first, just so you have a better idea of what matters the most, i.e., the RAM, ROM, Graphics, Build Quality, Resolution, etc. allowing you to decide if this is the laptop you seek without reading the entire review.

The specifications make for a fine laptop for students who like to note their lectures directly onto the laptops and fancy playing games in their leisure. But, it will restrict your usage if you are a heavy user, considering this laptop for intensive programming or for playing high-end games.
It might allow for programming (not too aggressive) but will start heating upon playing power-consuming games. Anyway, it is not the final verdict. There is an entire review to walk through, followed by the perfect use and audience of Asus 2-in-1 Q535.
The Design of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
We have to agree with the fact that this laptop emits premium vibes from afar and might even be the same in proximity. It may deceive you into thinking that it is an expensive machine, which it is, but not as much as other releases. We’ll get to the pricing part later, though.
As of the design, Asus 2-in-1 Q535 features an aluminum build, which, while making it durable, makes it a lightweight machine as well, weighing at 3 pounds. It is what makes the ideal choice for students if you as a student want more reasons to get convinced for the machine.
The bezels are thin. You won’t feel regretful upon looking at the upcoming releases with the same bezels as Asus Q535, for it has bezels ahead of its time, so you can rest assured that opting for this wouldn’t be a poor decision at all—from the design side.
The Display of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
The display of this laptop has managed to impress us with the most considerable part of any purchase, i.e., the price tag. Though it is a bit on the expensive side, its display is still generous.
We love the watching, working, and playing angles it manipulates across the usage, which is quite rare of the laptops featuring at this price segment.
It has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is justifiable. You cannot ask more at this price, absolutely not when you are getting an Ultra High Definition picture quality at 3840 x 2160 pixels, being one of the few intriguing parts of the laptop.
You can work on almost all your tasks that require the utmost attention to detail with true-tone color quality, for this laptop carries all of it, only that you make up your mind and visit the store.
The Convertibility of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
At times, you may end up purchasing a laptop with ill-quality hinges that wear out before the expected time. But, that’s not the case with this machine, for not only the hinges are sturdy, but they also account for swift convertibility from the laptop to tablet interface.
As much as you feel comfortable while using this machine for what it is, i.e., the laptop, you’d feel satisfied with its tablet experience. The comfortability, however, might have you giving a second thought to its tablet performance; but it’d be on the minor side; you would barely notice that.
It is not detachable if you expect it to be, but would rotate 360 degrees allowing for a touchscreen interface that would work as the tablet. So, you can consider it a win-win situation here, with the convertibility doing it just fine for you.
The Processor/Performance of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
It is the only thing that we feel could be a bit better in the machine, and you cannot justify it with a better display and build quality, or convertibility. There are many laptops featuring 9th or 10th generation Intel i7 processors, and comparing this machine with them, you’d see a straight downgrade.
It is not like it wouldn’t perform at all. The processor is pretty much powerful, performing, and boosted, with a base speed of 1.8GHz that you can clock to up to 3.9GHz, provided that it would consume as much power and may start heating up, as we mentioned earlier.
Our primary concern here is it could have been better, for its current offerings have limited it to light to moderate usage and not the heavy one, for unless it is not running an SSD, it might begin to glitch.
The Keyboard & Touchpad of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
It has a precision touchpad and a backlit keyboard as mentioned in the specifications at the start. Both the components work extraordinarily well, allowing for swift maneuvering of the pointer across the screen.
There is this highlight of the keyboard, i.e., it has backlit functionality, which offers complete ease of mind when typing or programming in dark or low-light surroundings. It also makes it a better choice for outdoor usage, with the brightness working all well.
You’d love the responsiveness on this machine, and that we are saying for all its parts.
The Batter of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
The battery life is one of many pros that has made this laptop the top selection for businessmen, students, and people who have not too heavy usage of such machines. What more could you need from a decently performing laptop that comes with a battery lasting up to 12 hours and 10 on multimedia?
That’s exactly what we asked ourselves when we felt the processor could be better and the display doesn’t compensate for that. But, looking at the battery size, lasting, and charging speed, we changed our mind for good.
Oh, we completely forgot the charging speed, which powers 50% of the battery in only 30 minutes, which, per our calculations, would take an hour for a full charge, saving you much of your time and expanding the usage window.
The Ports, Slots, & Connectivity of Asus 2-in-1 Q535
Would you expect an HDMI port from such a sleek, slim, and lightweight laptop? Well, we wouldn’t, but it has proven us wrong by featuring one. Not only that, but it also features USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports along with a micro SD card reader.
You could connect all your favorite computer peripherals without having to separately buy a USB hub, which saves you a decent amount of money, also if you have to buy it again in case it starts acting up.
It has Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity if you are wondering about making cable-less transfers of files, documents, and videos; you can do that without any hassle. Now, we won’t complain about this, for it is a great addition to its list of useful features.
