Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are officially Divorced!

A Los Angeles judge finally signed off on the judgment after the couple worked through a settlement of a huge $400 million fortune.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s marriage finally came to an end when a Los Angeles judge signed on the last remaining legal settlement paper on December 28, 2021.

The couple married in 1986 but called off their marriage in 2011 as Schwarzenegger was found cheating on his wife with their family’s ex-housekeeper Mildred Baena.

The cheating scandal made headlines and was in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Arnold Schwarzenegger even fathers a child of the ex-housekeeper outside the marriage; called Joseph Baena.

Maria Shriver is a philanthropist and a journalist and belongs to the Kennedy clan. She filed for divorce in July 2011 against her husband.

The court records suggest that Mildred Baena gave birth to her son Joseph only a week after Maria Shriver gave birth to their youngest son Christopher back in 1997.

The divorce kept on delaying and dragged on because of the absence of a proper prenup agreement as well as there were a lot of legal complications involved over the estates and fortune of the once known power couple.

Arnold Schwarzenegger once stated in an interview “After leaving the governor’s office, I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.” “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children, and my family. I am truly sorry.”

He also stated that the split has been very tough for him. “It’s a very tough situation for me. It’s a very tough situation for my kids. Very tough situation for my family. It was tough for everybody. But it has happened and now we have to figure it out, right?”

After the infamous split, they both remained cordial with each other for years to co-parent their four children. They are proud grandparents now.
