A new mask mandate is in the picture as America undergoes another wave of new COVID-19 cases due to increasing and contagious delta variant.

Dr. Anthony Fauci hinted that a possible new mask mandate even for the vaccinated population might be “under active consideration” since they are also at the risk of COVID-19. Fauci stated that bringing back the mask mandate is under heavy consideration and is being discussed over in the meetings but no final decision has been made at the moment.

Dr. Fauci determined that according to the CDC, the vaccinated Americans still do not need to endorse masks but because of the unvaccinated populations, the medical officials might have to implement the mandate on everybody in order to protect them and discredit the unvaccinated population.

If the mask mandate is back, it will be based upon the recommendations from the CDC in order to curtail the spread of the infection which might get out of hand if suitable measures are not taken within time.

The mask mandate was removed by CDC in May for the fully vaccinated people.

Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control Prevention claimed that “the delta variant is spreading with incredible efficiency and now represents more than 83% of the virus circulating in the United States.”

People who are hospitalized due to the COVID-19 are 99% unvaccinated; they are the real threat to the vaccinated population stated Kristen Choi, an assistant professor at the School of Nursing UCLA.

Critics overly slammed the remarks from Dr. Anthony Fauci stating that his comments regarding bringing back the mask mandate were “controlling” and “constantly changing.”

The republicans tweeted against this notation and called out names for Dr. Fauci. Dr. Fauci claimed that currently America is divided into two types: one is the “relatively protected vaccinated population” whereas the other one is the “vulnerable unvaccinated population.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci urged the elected leaders of the unvaccinated majority counties and states to make it mandatory for their respective citizens to get themselves vaccinated. The main motive behind this move is to curtail the deadly and contagious version of coronavirus before the country goes back to a new mask mandate along with other severe measures.
