The Chief Medical Advisor to the President and the top government epidemiologist Dr. Anthony Fauci has been in hot waters for the past few days and the trouble has not conceded yet. According to the latest news, a forthcoming Dr. Anthony Fauci’s book has been taken down from all major bookselling websites amidst the backlash he has been receiving from all ends, especially from the Republicans, after his emails were made public.
Anthony’s book “Expect the Unexpected: Ten Lessons on Truth, Service, and the Way Forward” was listed on Amazon and Barnes & Noble with a release date of November. It was an original Amazon listing, which described the book as “an inspiration in Fauci’s unique perspective on leadership, expecting the unexpected, and finding joy in difficult times.”
By Wednesday, it was noticed that the book was completely scrubbed out from major sites such as Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. The website listings had the promotional description and preorder status, but it was not there anymore.
Amazon and Barnes & Noble have not made any comments regarding this new development. The book was written in collaboration with National Geographic books. It was developed in lieu of an upcoming documentary film with Dr. Fauci. The 80-page book had interviews with Fauci, which were conducted at different times during his 34 years long career while serving as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
These moves ignited the growing speculations of trouble times for Fauci after his emails went public, yearning for immense criticism from all circles of life.
Anthony Fauci’s private emails, which were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, have received extreme backlash from his critics. The emails were contradictory to his mask mandate speeches, closure of businesses and schools while the coronavirus was spreading across the country. The emails also discussed a possibility that the coronavirus was indeed a leakage from a lab in Wuhan.
Republicans have slammed Dr. Fauci for profiting from the pandemic and claimed that the book is another source of generating money from the crisis. He is the highest-paid federal servant in America as his paycheck surpasses even the President of the United States of America.
A hashtag started to trend on social media titled #firefauci after his emails went viral; as the Republicans and critics openly criticized his policies and measures.
