Actor Alec Baldwin has appeared for his first TV interview at ABC News since the tragic incident at his ‘Rust’ movie shooting. In this new and exclusive interview, the actor talks about the incident, how things panned out, and how he felt at the moment as well as what he feels about the incident and its occurrence now.

“I can’t imagine I would ever do a movie that had a gun in it again, I can’t,” said Alec Baldwin to George Stephanopoulos of the ABC News on Thursday, adding, “I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them. Even now, I find it hard to believe that. It doesn’t seem real to me.”

Baldwin found it very hard to come to terms with what had happened, especially at the moment when the incident occured. He told Stephanopoulos that he never pulled the trigger, only the hammer, and the gun went off.

Reports taken from the crew members match the testimony by the people involved in the investigation, Alec Baldwin was handed the prop gun by David Halls, who was assistant director during the shoot. Halls yelled, “cold gun” after handing Balwdin the weapon which translated to “‘empty barrel”

“I have dreams about this constantly now. I wake up constantly where guns are going off, these images have come into my mind, kept me awake at night and I haven’t slept for weeks. I’ve really been struggling physically. I’m exhausted.” said Alec Baldwin about his traumatic experience that all occurred due to miscommunication and potential neglect or mismanagement on behalf of the management.

Another deeply saddening thing added by Baldwin was regarding his acting career. He went on to confirm that he is very unsure about whether he will continue acting anymore, ”My family is all I have. Honest to god, I couldn’t give a shit about my career anymore.” said Alec Baldwin, regarding what he feels about coming back in front of the camera.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing and nobody has been charged so far. On a question about what meeting Hutchins’ husband was like, he said, “”I didn’t know what to say. He hugged me and he goes, ‘I suppose we’re going to go through this together,” I think to myself, this little boy doesn’t have a mother anymore … and there’s nothing we can do to bring her back. I told him, ‘I don’t know what to say, I don’t know how to convey to you how sorry I am and willing to do anything I can to cooperate.'”

Apart from the outpour of love Hutchins has received from people all over the industry, Baldwin himself said, “She was the loveliest woman, one of the loveliest women I’ve ever worked with and one of the most professional in terms of her demeanor.” Officers investigating the case told the press that since procedures take time especially in a case this complicated, this one could take many months. Producers from the movie other than Baldwin announced that the shoot is paused and not canceled for now.
