An 11-year-old girl was the only survivor of an aircraft accident that killed her father, the pilot and two other passengers.

The girl and a guy were taken to the hospital from the wreckage of the twin-engine jet that crashed down in Lake Michigan yesterday.

Only the girl was able to be saved. She is now being hospitalized for significant injuries with her present state in question.

The Petoskey News-Review says that two dogs were also killed in the Island aircraft disaster.

The girl’s father, Mike Perdue, was an estate agent, while Adam Kendall and Kate Leese, who had just relocated to the island and were preparing to develop a winery, were the other passengers.

On an Instagram account “Life Without Waiting” by Kate and Adam, they defined themselves as “travelers turned farmers,” featuring images of their travels, including in an Airstream camper.

On Instagram, they said that this is how they wanted to remember their time together.

There is currently no record of the identity of Britton-Norman BN-2A plane’s pilot.

The jet took off from Charlevoix at 1.32 pm local time on the mainland and crashed 15 minutes later as it approached Welke Airport on the island, according to the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigations by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will take place after the incident.

This is the second aircraft crash incident within this week.
